Series Title: Political Economy, Caste, Labour

The relationship between labour and caste is crucial to understand capitalist exploitation and class struggle. This book series addresses the role of caste in labour processes and introduces materialist analyses of labour to the burgeoning critical literature of caste studies. We seek to understand the changing dynamics of land ownership, commodity markets, work and migration experiences, and political imagination in relation to labouring lives, both within South Asia and its diaspora, as labour circulates globally. Adopting a political economy approach, the series considers caste and class together, presenting new narratives and histories of working people's resistance.
