Vistas into South Indian History, Society, Economy

The books in this series will make available to South Indian students and readers the most important and influential English-language scholarship in the humanistic and social scientific disciplines related to South India. It aims to bridge the gap between English and South Indian language scholarship, promoting the exchange of concepts and practices in learning and research across South India and beyond. Each volume, edited by experienced scholars, will bring together a collection of 15-20 foundational, influential or innovative essays that have contributed to shaping the fields of study in question. The editors will introduce each volume, providing readers with intellectual, scholarly, and institutional context for the essays that follow.
